Introduction to factored form

Factored form is another type of form that can represent a quadratic equation. It is written in the form...

y=a(x-r) (x-s)

This form is factored (broken down) from the original standard form, however, the value for "y" is the same for both standard, and factored form.

This provides different information than the information delivered in the vertex form, however, they both are the same equation, but in different forms

Important message: Some terms that will be utilized are defined on the key terms page, so please refer to that in order to acquire information about their meaning.
